The Julia works is a series of video-performances incorporating poetry and graphics made in collaboration with the photographer, video-artist and poet Keith Brighouse. The series developped from more conceptual performance work. Rather than starting with a fully formed idea where theperformer simply carries out the visual artist’s idea, we wanted to create a work through improvisation and collaboration that was more theatrical, something visually arresting as much as intellectual. The Julia works is inspired by comic book art and filled with chance, surrealism and absurdism. The whole point was to create low tech do-it-yourself punk aesthetic.

Exhibited at The Backroom Gallery in Rotterdam (February-March 2017) and at TWISTER pop-up galerie Zwijndrecht (May-June 2017)
