  • You see?

The creation of this choreography was commissioned by AKOM Ensemble. Julia co-worked with the composer Alberto Granados in the concept development of the piece. Inspired by the series of paintings ‘No connection’ by JFilament which led them to the concept of social blindness: “I don’t think we go blind. I think we are blind. Blind but seeing. Blind people who can see but they do not see.” ~José Saramago

This blindness doesn’t concern to the physical disability to see but to the psychic disconnection from what happens around us. We protect our emotional self by not letting it “see” the hurtful consequences of our actions, the ugly truth. We construct walls that enclose our own “reality”, not letting us see a global reality beyond.
